LOS ANGELES– Congresswoman Karen Bass announced this week that her bid for reelection has been endorsed by the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO, the second largest central labor body in the nation representing about 800,000 active and retired members.
“I’ve been proud to stand on the front lines with working families as we work to make sure that they have people fighting for them in Congress," said Rep. Bass. "I look forward to continuing our work to raise the nation's minimum wage, defend the Affordable Care Act, defend the rights of workers to organize, and ensure that women receive equal pay for equal work."
The endorsement reflects her strong record of standing up for workers’ rights. While serving in Congress, Rep. Bass co-sponsored The Paycheck Fairness Act, which would help close the wage gap between women and men working the same jobs. She has also co-sponsored legislation to raise the nation's minimum wage, and she fought against right-wing attempts to take away the rights of workers to collectively bargain for fair rights in the workplace.
