Speaker Emeritus Bass has been vigorously fighting in the Assembly. Next on the agenda was New Hope Senior Villa partments in Silverlake, a senior housing community dedicated to those living with AIDS/HIV where Speaker Emeritus Bass and Congresswoman Watson spent time speaking with the residents about their experiences at New Hope. From Silverlake the group moved west to discuss job creation strategies and the recent revitalization of Hollywood with the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. By late afternoon Speaker Emeritus Bass and Congresswoman Watson spent time at the offices of the Larchmont Chronicle, the community newspaper that has been covering the area and the surrounding communities since 1963. The last two stops of the day were with the vibrant Korean community of the 33rd District. First, top community leaders met with the two legislators at the Korean American Federation of Los Angeles to give them an overview of the issues of importance to their area. The day was ended with a visit to the Korea Media Times Group where the Speaker Emertius and the Congresswoman toured the facility and spoke to the men and women who produce some of the most important Korean language publications outside of Korea.
